MEANING
खंजन नयन रूपरसमाते ॥ अतिशय चारू चपल अनियारे पलपिंजरा न समाते ॥१॥Shri Krishna’s eyes, like Khanjan (White-Browed Wagtail Bird), are absorbed in the rasa of (Shri Radha's) beauty. Exceedingly lovely, lively, and dark, they cannot remain confined within the cage of His eyelids. ॥१॥उडउड जात निकट श्रवणनके उलट फिरत ताटंक फंदाते ॥ सूरदास अंजनगुण अटके न तरु अबहि उडजाते ॥२॥Again and again, they fly toward His ears, then turn back, as though caught in the snare of His earrings. Surdas says: they are held fast by the charm of the kajal; otherwise, they would have flown away at once. ॥२॥
