महा सुख छायो Maha Sukh Chhayo
MEANING
महा सुख छायो आज सुहायो श्रीविट्ठलेशके ओक ॥ज्ञानरूप महाप्रभु प्रकट भये श्रीयदुपति या भुवलोक ॥१॥Great joy has spread today through the beautiful home of Shri Vitthalesh. Mahaprabhu Shri Yadupati, the very form of knowledge, has appeared in this world. ॥१॥ध्वजा पताका पोहोप माल मणि मोतिन पूरे चोक ॥गाय सिंगार ग्वाल सब आये कृष्ण सुबल अरुतोक ॥२॥Flags, banners, and flower garlands adorn the celebration, and the chaukas are decorated with gems and pearls. The cows are beautifully adorned, and all the Gwalas arrive, with Krishna, Subal, and the other children. ॥२॥झुंडन जुरि आई व्रज तरुणी राजत अपने थोक ॥प्रेम विवश भये कबहुंक गावत बांधितानकी झोक ॥३॥The young women of Vraj come together in groups, each group looking beautiful. Overcome with love, they sing, at times joining their voices in flowing melodies. ॥३॥जयजय बोलत डोलत चहुं दिश हरखभरे पुरलोक ॥रसिकदास कहा वरणि सके मुख महा मूढ मति फोक ॥४॥Cries of “Jaya! Jaya!” resound in every direction, and all the people of the town are filled with joy. Rasikdas says: how could I describe it with my words? My understanding is far too limited. ॥४॥
