MEANING
नंदगृह आयौ गर्ग विधि जानी ।रामकृष्णके नाम करन हित यदुकुल के सनमानी ॥१॥Garga, the honoured sage of the Yadu clan, came to Nanda’s home, knowing the proper rites, to perform the naming of Rama and Krishna. ॥१॥गजमोतिनके चौक पुराये नामकरन बिधि ठानी ।मंगल गीत गावत यशोमति बोलत अमृत बानी ॥२॥The ceremonial chauk was filled with elephant pearls, and preparations were made for the naming rite. Yashomati sings auspicious songs and speaks words sweet as nectar. ॥२॥प्रथमही सुनों बड़े ढोटा के नाम राम बलदेव ।हलधर और नाम संकर्षण कोऊ न जाने भेव ॥३॥“First, hear the names of the elder boy: Rama and Baladeva. Haladhara and Sankarshana are also His names; no one knows their mystery.” ॥३॥अब यह नाम तुम्हारे सुतके सुनौ चित दै नंद ।कृष्ण नाम नारायण केशव है हरि परमानंद ॥४॥“Now, Nanda, listen attentively to the names of your son: Krishna, Narayana, Keshava, Hari, and Paramananda.” ॥४॥पद्मनाभ माधो मधुसूदन वासुदेव भगवान ।और अनंत नाम इनके हैं कहों कहाँ लों आन ॥५॥“Padmanabha, Madhava, Madhusudana, Vasudeva, Bhagavan—His other names are endless; how many can I possibly recount?” ॥५॥नंदसुवन त्रिभुवन के ठाकुर तिनके नाम धराये ।परमानंद प्रभु अखिल लोकपति गोप वेष धरि आये ॥६॥The son of Nanda is the Lord of the three worlds; these names were bestowed upon Him. Paramanand says: the Lord, the Master of all the worlds, has come dressed as a Gopa. ॥६॥
