परममंगल परबनी दीपमालिका घरघरन प्रति दिव्य दीपावली ॥ महामहोत्सव मान प्रीत अतिरुचि आन कुसल जीय जान ललितादि चंद्रावली ॥१॥
This most auspicious festival of rows of lamps, the divine Deepavali, is being celebrated at every home. Taking it to be a grand festival, Lalita, Chandravali, and the other Sakhis come with great love and delight, well understanding the feelings of their hearts. ॥१॥
गोपीजन जूथ सुन जोरि कुंवर किशोरि साज सिंगार उरउदित प्रेमावली ॥ कर कनक थाल भर दीप संजोय सब चली ग्रह नंदके द्वार संजावली ॥२॥
The groups of Gopis gather together, and the youthful maidens adorn themselves beautifully, with loving joy rising in their hearts. Holding golden trays filled with carefully arranged lamps in their hands, they all go to decorate the doorway of Nanda’s house. ॥२॥
दास कुंभन नाथको जु वैभव निरख मनहु फुली नवल युवति कुमुदावली ॥ कमलवदनी कुंवरि वृखभानकी नंदिनी श्रवत मकरंद रति ललन मधुपावली ॥३॥
Kumbhandas says: beholding the splendour of his Lord, it seems as though a fresh row of young kumud flowers has blossomed. The lotus-faced daughter of Vrishabhanu stands among the loving maidens like a gathering of bees drawn to nectar. ॥३॥
