MEANING
प्रथम समाज आज वृंदावन विहरतलाल विहारी ॥Today, in the first assembly, Lāl Bihārī is enjoying Himself in Vṛndāvan. ॥पांचे नवल वसंत वृंदावन उमगि चलीं व्रजनारी ॥१॥On the fifth day, the new spring has come to Vṛndāvan, and the women of Vraj have come out, filled with joy. ॥१ ॥मंगलकलश लिये व्रजसुंदरि मधि वृषभान दुलारी ॥The beautiful women of Vraj carry auspicious pots, with Vṛṣabhān’s beloved daughter Rādhā in their midst.फलदलजुर नवनूतमंजुरी कनिक कलश सोभारी ॥२॥The pots are beautifully adorned with pairs of fruits and leaves, fresh new flower-buds, and gold. ॥२ ॥गावतगीत बजावत वाजे मेनसेन अनुहारी ॥They sing songs and play musical instruments, following the lovely way of Madana’s army.दरसपरस मनमोद बढावत राजतछबि भरभारी ॥३॥Their sight and touch increase the joy of the heart; His great beauty shines in full splendour. ॥३ ॥उडत गुलाल अबीर कुंकुमा भरिकेसरि पिचकारी ॥Gulāl, abīr, and kuṅkum fly through the air, while saffron-filled syringes spray their colors.छिरकत फिरत छबीले गातन रूप अनुप अपारी ॥४॥The beautiful ones move about, sprinkling colors upon one another; their forms are matchless and beyond measure. ॥४ ॥विविध विलास हास रस भीने इत प्रीतम उत्प्यारी ॥Here the beloved ones are filled with many kinds of joyful play and laughter, and loving affection arises.हित हरिवंस निरखि मुख सोभा अखियां टरत न टारी ॥५॥Hith Harivaṁśa says: Seeing the beauty of their faces, my eyes cannot turn away. ॥५ ॥
