राधावर खेलत होरी ॥Rādhā’s Beloved is playing Holī.नंद गाम के ग्वाल इते उत बरसाने की गोरी ॥The cowherd boys of Nanda’s village are on one side and the fair young women of Barsānā are on the other.डफ करताल बजावत गावत केशर कुंकुम घोरी ॥They play the daf and kartāl, sing, and mix saffron and kuṅkum.परस्पर रंग मेंवोरी ॥१॥They cover one another with color. ॥१॥गावत गारी गवार मानों नव नागरी नवजोव न जोरी ॥The village women sing playful Holī songs, as though a pair of newly youthful Nāgarīs has gathered.नंदलाल बडो रसिया है हमते करत बराजोरी ॥Nandalāl is very playful and insists on playing Holī with us.फागुन में कोन की चोरी ॥२॥In Phāgun, who is stealing whom? ॥२॥दशोदिश में गुलाल घुमड रह्यो काहू लखन परयोरी ॥Gulāl is swirling in all ten directions, and its marks have fallen upon everyone.औचक आय धाय चंद्रावलि ललितादिक सब दोरी ॥Suddenly Candrāvalī, Lalitā, and all the others come running.गह्यो कुंवर वर जोरी ॥३॥Together they seize the beautiful Kunvar. ॥३॥मोर मुकुट वन माल मुरलिका पीतांबर लियो छोरी ॥They take away His peacock crown, forest-flower garland, flute, and yellow garment.भामिन वेष बनाय कहतहें नंदराय की छोरी ॥They dress Him in the appearance of a beautiful young woman and say, “She is Nandarāy’s daughter.”बनि छबि काम कमोरी ॥४॥His appearance becomes like a beautiful figure of Kāma. ॥४॥देदे तारी नचावत ग्वालिन अपनी अपनी ओरी ॥Clapping and calling out the rhythm, they make the cowherd women dance, each on her own side.वादिन की सुध भूले ललारे यमुनातट चीरह्योरी ॥Lāl forgets all awareness of the instruments; on the bank of the Yamunā, the garments are left scattered here and there.आज सखी दावप्योरी ॥५॥Today, O sakhi, it is our turn. ॥५॥कृष्ण रंगफगुवाजोमा मतो देकर बहुत निहोरी ॥O Kṛṣṇa, give me the color of Phāguvā; I am deeply absorbed in it, making many requests.हैआधीन वृषभान सुताके विनती करेकर जोरी ॥I am under the authority of the daughter of Vṛṣabhān; I make this request with folded hands.देउ अपनो कर छोरी ॥६॥Give me Your hand and leave it with me. ॥६॥
