सांवरे मोहि रंग में बोरी ॥ बैयां पकर मेरी सिर की गगरीया छीनकें सिरतें ढोरी ॥ O Dark One, You drenched me in colour. Seizing my arm, You snatched away the water-pot from my head and poured it down over me.रंगमें लालन रसबस कीनो डारी गुलाल की झोंरी ॥ गावन लाग्यो मुखते होरी ॥१॥ Beloved Lalan made me completely absorbed in the delight of colour, throwing a handful of gulal upon me, and began singing Holi songs from His lips. ॥१॥आय अचानक मिल्योरी डगरमें तब निरख्यो नंदकोरी ॥ भर भुजले मोहि पकरकें जीवन ने वरजोरी ॥ माला मुतियन की तोरी ॥२॥ He suddenly came and met me on the path; then I beheld Nanda’s son. My very life seized me fully in His arms and playfully used force, breaking my pearl necklace. ॥२॥मर्यादा मेरी कछूना राखी कही एक बात ठगोरी ॥ तब इनकों में आंख दिखाई मत जानो मोहि भोरी ॥ जानू तेरे चितकी चोरी ॥३॥ He kept none of my modest restraint and spoke one beguiling word. Then I looked Him straight in the eyes: “Do not think me innocent; I know the secret theft within Your heart.” ॥३॥मेरो जोर प्रभु कछुन चलत है कंचुकी की कसतोरी ॥ सूरदास प्रभु तिहारे मिलन कूं रसियाने रंग में बोरी ॥ गई में नंदकी पौरी ॥४॥ My strength, O Prabhu, has no power at all; even the fastening of my bodice does not hold. Surdas says: for union with You, O Prabhu, the Rasika has drenched me in colour; I have gone to Nanda’s doorway. ॥४॥
