MEANING

सज्यो सुरराज व्रजराजके कुंवर पर चढ गजराज दियो दूरडेरो ॥महीपति मद भरे नहीं मोसों डरे गोप गिरिकों दियो भोग मेरो ॥१॥Suraraj prepared to confront Vrajaraj’s Kunvar; mounting his great elephant, he set out from his distant abode. Filled with pride, he said, “These Gopas do not fear me; they have given to Giriraj the bhog that was mine.” ॥१॥मूछपर करधरें नाहीं काहूगिनें जायकें अहीर अभिमान टारूं ॥आजमेनें अब नेम एसो लियो गोप गिरि सहित ले सिंधुडारूं ॥२॥With his hand upon his moustache, regarding no one, he declared, “I shall go and break the pride of these Ahirs. Today I have made this firm resolve: I shall sweep the Gopas, together with the mountain, into the ocean.” ॥२॥साज सारथी गगन गाज गोकुल गयो घटा कर गरजना धरणी धूजें ॥बीजकी ख्रीजमें गर्भ गिरगिर परें गोप हरि शरण गये चरण पूजें ॥३॥With his forces prepared, the sky thundered; clouds reached Gokul, roaring so fiercely that the earth trembled. At the terrifying flashes of lightning, expectant mothers began to collapse in fear; the Gopas took refuge in Hari and bowed at His feet. ॥३॥कृष्णगिरि कर धर्यो ताप व्रजको टर्यो गोपी गोरस मथें घोषगाजें ॥गाय वच्छ तृणचरें सबही आनंद करें शैल धर्यो सातदिन भक्तकाजें ॥४॥Krishna held Giriraj upon His hand, and Vraj’s distress disappeared. The Gopis churned goras while the cowherd settlement resounded with activity. The cows and calves grazed on grass and everyone rejoiced; for the sake of His devotees, He held the mountain for seven days. ॥४॥चक्र निरभय धर्यो चारदिशमें फिर्यो देख मघवा डर्यो शरण आयो ॥प्राणजीवन प्रभुकी कोन लीलालखे सुरनर मुनि सब सुयश गायो ॥५॥He placed the Chakra as a fearless protection, moving around on all four sides. Seeing this, Maghava became afraid and came seeking refuge. Pranajivan says: who can comprehend Prabhu’s Leela? Devas, humans, and sages all sing His beautiful glory. ॥५॥
