MEANING
राख लेहो अब नंद किशोर ॥तुमजो इंद्रकी पूजा मेटी वरखत है अतिजोर ॥१॥“Protect us now, O Nand Kishor! Because You stopped the worship of Indra, he is pouring down rain with tremendous force.” ॥१॥व्रजबासी सब यों चितवतहें ज्यों कर चंद चकोर ॥जिन डरपो नयन सब मूंदो धरहों नखकी कोर ॥२॥All the people of Vraj gaze upon You like chakoras gazing at the moon. “Do not be afraid; all of you close your eyes. I shall hold the mountain upon the tip of My nail.” ॥२॥कर अभिमान इंद्र झर लायो करत घटा घनघोर ॥सूरश्याम कहें सब राखों बूंद न आवे छोर ॥३॥Filled with pride, Indra has brought torrents of rain, while dense, dark clouds gather overhead. Sur says: Shyam declares, “I shall protect everyone—not a single drop will reach you.” ॥३॥
