MEANING
सुंदर बदनरी सुख सदन श्यामको निरख नैन मन थाक्यो ॥ हो ठाडी विथन व्हे निकस्यो ऊझकि झरोका झांक्यो ॥१॥Beholding Shyam’s beautiful face, the abode of joy, my eyes and mind became completely absorbed. I stood there as He passed through the street, leaning forward to look from the window. ॥१॥लालन एक चतुराई कीनी गेंद उछार गगन मिस ताक्यो ॥ बेरिन लाज भईरी मोकों में गंवार मुख ढांक्यो ॥२॥Lal played a clever little trick: He tossed a ball upward and, on that pretext, looked toward me. At once I became shy and, simple as I was, covered my face. ॥२॥चितवनमें कछु करगयो मोतन चढ्यो रहत चित चाक्यो ॥ सूरदास प्रभु सर्वस्व लेकें हंसत हंसत रथ हांक्यो ॥३॥With that one glance, He did something to my heart, leaving it deeply affected and ever alert to Him. Surdas says: Prabhu took away everything that was mine and, smiling all the while, drove the chariot onward. ॥३॥
