MEANING
डार प्रति सुरंग पाटकी डोरें हैं। रंग बोरे हैं रतनजटितकी पटुली मनो रवि भोरे हैं ॥२॥From each branch hang beautiful, colorful swing-ropes. The swing-seat is studded with jewels and soaked in color, appearing as though the rays of the sun are shining upon it. ॥२॥जमुना निकट नवल हरियारी सीतल पवन झकोरे हैं। घनघोरे हैं मन्द मन्द सुर बोलत अलि पिक मोरे हैं ॥३॥Near the Yamuna there is fresh green growth, and cool breezes are blowing. Dark clouds fill the sky, while the bees, cuckoos, and peacocks softly give their calls. ॥३॥झोंटा बढत निकट चलि आवत जमुना नीर हिलोरें हैं। मन भोरे हैं डरप तिया उर लागत नेन निहोरे हैं ॥४॥As the swing moves higher, the waves of the Yamuna water seem to come nearer. The hearts are filled with wonder; the women feel a little fear in their hearts, and their eyes look beseechingly. ॥४॥रुचिर काछनी लटक मुकुटकी उडत पीत पट छोरे हैं। फबी कोरें हैं पचरंग सारी राज रही तन गोरे हैं ॥५॥The lovely waist-cloth hangs down, the ends of the crown flutter, and the loose ends of the yellow garment fly. The five-colored sari looks beautiful at its edges and shines upon the fair body. ॥५॥गावति सखी सुघर ललितादिक मिलि मलार धुनि थोरे हैं। रस घोरे हैं बीच बीच मिलवत मधुर मृदंग टकोरे हैं ॥६॥The graceful sakhis, Lalita and the others, sing together in the melody of Malhar. The sweetness of the rasa deepens, and from time to time the sweet strokes of the mridanga join in. ॥६॥याही रस विलसो निसिवासर रितु पावस सुख कोरे हैं। व्रज खोरे हैं निरख निरख छबि व्रजाधीश तून तोरे हैं ॥७॥May we delight in this very rasa day and night; in the rainy season, the joys are ever fresh. The people of Vraj behold the beauty of the Lord of Vraj again and again, and their hearts are completely overcome. ॥७॥
