MEANING
आजुं में देखे कुंज बिहारी ॥ सीस धरी रंग पाग गुलाबी तेसोई पिछोरा छबि न्यारी ॥१॥Today I beheld Kunj Bihari. Upon His head He wore a rose-colored turban, and His pichhora of the same color gave Him a uniquely beautiful appearance. ॥१॥राग मल्हार अलापत गावत कोयल सब्द उचारी ॥ घोर घटा घन गाज चहूँ दिस चमकत हे चपला री ॥२॥He was singing and intoning Raga Malhar, while the cuckoos were calling out. Dense clouds thundered on every side, and lightning flashed brightly. ॥२॥स्यामा स्याम कुंज तर ठाढे फूल रही फूल बारी ॥ सावन मास देखि बरखा ऋतु मानौं भूमि हरियारी ॥३॥Syama and Shyam stood beneath the grove, and the flower-garden was in bloom. In the month of Savan, with the rainy season come, the earth appeared green all around. ॥३॥तब हरियारे मारग निकसे चूंबत आवत सारी ॥ 'सूरदास' प्रभु लेति वलैया सोभा देखत भारी ॥४॥Then They came out along the green path, with the sari softly brushing along as it came. Surdas says: lovingly taking balai of Prabhu, one beholds this great beauty. ॥४॥
