MEANING
आयो आगम नरेश देश देशमें आनंद मयो मन्मथ अपनी सहायकुं बुलायो ॥ मोरनकी टेर सुन कोकिला कुलाहल तेसोई दादुर हिलमिल सुरगायो ॥१॥The kingly rainy season has arrived, spreading joy from land to land; Manmath has called all his companions together. Hearing the calls of the peacocks, the cuckoos raise their voices, and the frogs too join together in their own song. ॥१॥चढ्यो घन मत्तहाथी पवन महावत साथी अंकुश बंकुश देदे चपल चलायो ॥ दामिनी ध्वजा पताका फरहरात शोभा बाढी गरज गरज धोंधों दमामा बजायो ॥२ ॥The cloud has mounted like a mighty elephant, with the wind as its mahout, swiftly urging it onward with the goad. Lightning flutters like banners and flags, increasing the splendor, while the clouds thunder like resounding kettledrums. ॥२ ॥आगें आगें धाय धाय बादर वर्षत जाय व्यारनकी बहुकन ठोर ठोर छिरकायो ॥ हरी हरी भूमि-पर बूढनकी शोभा बाढी वरण बरन रंग बिछोना बिछायो ॥३ ॥The clouds rush ahead, pouring down rain, while the winds scatter showers here and there. Upon the fresh green earth, the beauty of the plants increases, spreading a many-colored covering across the ground. ॥३ ॥बांधेहे विरही चोर कीनहे जतन रोर संजोगी साधनसों मिल अति सचुपायो ॥ नंददास प्रभु नंदनंदनके आज्ञाकारी अति सुखकारी व्रजवासीन मनभायो ॥४ ॥The sorrow of those in separation is restrained, while those who are together find great joy through every means. Nanddas says: this season obeys Prabhu Nandanandan, brings great happiness, and is dear to the hearts of the people of Vraj. ॥४ ॥
