MEANING
दीपदान व्रजराज देत दोऊ ढोटनकों गोद बैठारी ॥दीपदानकी होत आरती मंगल गावत सब व्रजनारी ॥१॥Vrajaraj offers the Deepdaan, seating the two little boys in his lap. Arati is performed for Deepdaan, while all the women of Vraj sing auspicious songs. ॥१॥दीपदान शोभित भवनन पर धरत-फिरत खिरकनमें ग्वाल ॥लाल कहत बावा तुम देखो जानो पहराई कंचन माल ॥२॥The lamps of Deepdaan shine upon the houses, while the Gopas carry and place them throughout the cattle enclosures. Lala says, “Baba, look! It seems as though they have been adorned with golden garlands.” ॥२॥यह त्योहार दिवारीको सुख मानत नंद गोपव्रज लोग ॥नानाभांतके करत रहतहें अपअपने मन भाये भोग ॥३॥Nanda, the Gopas, and the people of Vraj joyfully celebrate this festival of Diwali. They prepare many kinds of bhog, each according to what pleases the heart. ॥३॥हटरी भरत नंदजूकी रानी मेवा सब पकवान मिठाई ॥हसत हसत गृहगृहकी सुंदरि सोदा करन लालसों आई ॥४॥Nandaju’s Rani fills the little shop with dried fruits, festive dishes, and sweets. Smiling, the Sundaris from every home come to trade with Lala. ॥४॥देखत फूलत माय बवादोऊ अनगिनती नोछावर वारी ॥हटरी बैठे यों राजत हें श्रीविठ्ठलगिरिधारी ॥५॥Watching this, Maiya and Baba both blossom with joy and make countless loving offerings over Him. Seated at the little shop, Shri Vitthal Giridhari shines beautifully. ॥५॥
