MEANING
दीपदान दे हटरी बैठे बड़ो पर्वहे आज दिवारी ॥चहुं ओर पांत बनी दीपनकी रानीजु अपने हाथ संवारी ॥१ ॥After offering the lamps, He sits at the little shop; today is the great festival of Diwali. Rows of lamps are arranged on every side, lovingly prepared by Raniju with her own hands. ॥१॥दिव्य कपूर सुगंध आदि रचि घृतसुरभीको जोति उजारी ॥पकवान बहुत कर थार भरे धर लडूवा गुंज फेंनी सुहारी ॥२ ॥Divine camphor and other fragrances are arranged, while lamps filled with fragrant ghee shine brightly. Platters are filled with many delicacies—laddus, gunja, and beautiful pheni. ॥२॥वनज करेंगे भान कुंवरिसों मनमें फूले कुंवर गिरिधारी ॥घरघरतें ब्रजनारी निकसी नवल किशोरी तरुणी बारी ॥३ ॥Kunvar Giridhari rejoices in His heart, for He will trade with Bhan Kunvari. From house after house, the women of Vraj come forth—young Kishoris and graceful maidens. ॥३॥ललिता प्रभृति मुख्य श्रीराधा गावत मंगल शब्द उच्चारी ॥मिल- आई ब्रजराज घरनिघर एकतें एक सुभग सुकुमारी ॥४ ॥With Lalita and the other chief sakhis, Shri Radha comes singing auspicious songs. The young women gather at Brajaraj’s home, each one lovely and delicate. ॥४॥नाचत खेलत करत कोतूहल प्रेम मगन व्है आनंद भारी ॥कहो लाल कहा सोदादेहो चंद्रावलि मुख मुसकिनिहारी ॥५ ॥They dance and play in joyful celebration, absorbed in love and filled with immense happiness. Chandravali smiles and says, “Tell us, Lala, what bargain will You give us?” ॥५॥पूरो तोलो रुटनखेहो सेंतमेंत नहीं लाल विहारी ॥देख-देख फूलत नंदरानी अति उत्साह नोछावर वारी ॥६ ॥“Weigh it fully and properly; do not quarrel with us, Lala Vihari—we will take nothing for free.” Watching them, Nandarani blossoms with joy and, filled with enthusiasm, makes loving offerings. ॥६॥मन भायो दीयो सबहिनकों परम उदार गोवर्द्धनधारी ॥रसिकप्रभु प्रिय तुम चिरजीयो सहचरी वारवार बलिहारी ॥७॥The supremely generous Govardhandhari gives each one whatever pleases her heart. Rasik Prabhu says: “Pyare, may You live long!” The sahacharis offer themselves to You again and again. ॥७॥
