MEANING
दीपदानदे कान जगाये सुंदर हटरी सुभग संवारी ॥चित्र विचित्र बहुत रंग चीती गादी तकिया धरे सुधारी ॥१॥After offering the lamps and awakening the cows, a beautiful little shop is splendidly decorated. It is painted with many colourful designs, with a fine seat and cushions carefully arranged. ॥१॥चहुं ओर पांति बनी दीपनकी जगमग जगमग जोति उजारी ॥बीच साज चौपर खेलनकों बैठे आय कुंवर गिरिधारी ॥२॥Rows of lamps are arranged on every side, their bright flames sparkling and glowing. In the centre, chaupar is set out for play, and Kunvar Giridhari comes and sits down. ॥२॥दांही ओर चौकी गेंदुवा बीरा बांई ओर वृषभान दुलारी ॥को जीते को हारे दुहुनमें यों बोली ललिता सुकुमारी ॥३॥On the right are arranged a chauki, ball, and bira; on the left sits Vrishabhan Dulari. Tender Lalita says, “Let us see which of the two wins and which loses!” ॥३॥पेहेलो पासा डार्यो सुंदरि रूंट करी तब लाल विहारी ॥रहो लाल रहो एसें नहीं कीजे चंद्रावली एकघात विचारी ॥४॥Sundari throws the first dice, and then Lala Vihari playfully disputes the throw. Chandravali, watching closely, says, “Wait, Lala, wait—You must not play like that!” ॥४॥व्रजनारी कीरति रानी सब देखत केलि हँसत किलकारी ॥रसिकप्रभु पिय दोऊ जीते रानीजू बहुत नोछावर वारी ॥५॥The women of Vraj and Queen Kirti all watch the playful game, laughing with delight. Rasik Prabhu says: Piya and Pyari both win, and Raniju makes abundant loving offerings over Them. ॥५॥
