MEANING
घरन चली सब कही यशुमतिसों ॥देव मनावत वचन विनतिसों ॥१॥As they set out from their homes, they all said to Yashumati, humbly praying as they worshipped the deity. ॥१॥तुमविन ओर नहीं हम जानें ॥मुख स्तुति करत हम कहा वखानें ॥२॥“We know no one other than You. How can our mouths ever fully speak Your praise?” ॥२॥जहांतहां व्रजमंगल गानें ॥बाजत ढोल मृदंग निसानें ॥३॥Everywhere in Vraj, auspicious songs are sung, while drums, mridangs, and nisans resound. ॥३॥बहुत भांत करत पकवानें ॥नेवज कर धर साज विहानें ॥४॥Many kinds of festive foods are prepared. In the morning, they arrange everything and place it before the deity as an offering. ॥४॥छुवत नहीं देव काज संकाने ॥देव भोगकों रहत डरानें ॥५॥No one touches the food meant for the deity, being careful about the sacred rite; they remain cautious about the deity’s bhog. ॥५॥सूरदास हम सुरपति जाने ॥ओर कोन एसो जिहिं माने ॥६॥Surdas says: “We acknowledge Surapati as our deity; who else is there whom we would honour in this way?” ॥६॥
