MEANING
नंदहि कहति यशोदारानी ॥सुरपति पूजा तुमही भुलानी ॥१॥Queen Yashoda says to Nanda, “You yourself have forgotten the worship of Surapati.” ॥१॥यह नही भली तुम्हारी बानी ॥मैं गृह काज रहों लपटानी ॥२॥“What you say is not fair. I remain occupied with the household duties.” ॥२॥लोभही लोभ रहत हो सानी ॥देवकाजकी सुध बिसरानी ॥३॥“You remain absorbed in worldly concerns and have forgotten all about the worship of the deity.” ॥३॥मेहेरि कहेत पुनपुन यह बानी ॥पूजाके दिन पोंहोंचे आनी ॥४॥The lady of the house says these words again and again: “The day of worship has now arrived.” ॥४॥सूरदास यशोमतिकी बानी ॥नंदहि खीजखीज पछितानी ॥५॥Surdas says: hearing Yashomati’s words, Nanda feels repeatedly reproached and regrets his forgetfulness. ॥५॥
