MEANING
कान्हकौ कर्ण छेदन हाथ सुहारी भेली गुरकी ।विधि बिहँसत हँसत हेरि हेरि जसुमतिकें धकधकी उरकी ॥१॥For Kanha's ear-piercing, the guru's lovely offering is in hand. Seeing the rite and smiling again and again, Jasumati's heart trembles ॥१॥रोचन भरि लै देत सूची श्रवन निकट अति ही चातुरकी ।कंचनके डै दुर मँगाय लिये कहा कहों छेदन आतुरकी ॥२॥Filling it with rochan, the needle is brought near the ear with great skill; golden earrings have been sent for from afar, what can I say of the eagerness for the piercing? ॥२॥लोचन भरि भरि दोऊ माताके कान छेदन देखत जिय मुरकी।रोवत देख जननी अकुलानी लियौ तुरत नउवाँकौ भुरकी ॥३॥Both mothers gaze with eyes filled full, watching the ear-piercing, their hearts twisting with feeling. Seeing Him cry, the mother became anxious and quickly took the barber's tool away ॥३॥हँसत नंद युवती सब विहँसी झुमक चलीं सब भीतर दुरकी ।सूरदास नंद करत बधाई अति आनंद बाला ब्रजपुरकी ॥४॥Nanda laughed, and all the young women laughed; the earrings swung as all moved inside. Surdas congratulates Nanda; the young women of Vrajpur are filled with great joy ॥४॥
