MEANING
मेरे छगनमगन खेलौ आँगन जसुमतिके बारे । लटकन लटकत लिलाट धूरि धूसर भरे गात कहत मीठी तोतरी बात कुंतल घूँघरवारे ॥१॥
My Chhagan-Magan, play in the courtyard, O child of Jasumati. A little ornament hangs upon Your forehead; Your body is covered with dust, You speak sweet childlike words, and Your locks are curly. ॥१॥
कंठ कठुला बिराजै केहरिनख हीरा छाजै पाँइन पैंजनी सोहे नंदके दुलारे । धोंधीके प्रभुकी बाललीला अवगति अविनाश क्रीड़ा कहत निगम नेति नेति ब्रह्म वेद हारे ॥२॥
A necklace adorns Your neck, the tiger-claw ornament set with diamonds shines, and anklets grace Your feet, O beloved child of Nanda. The childhood play of Dhondhi’s Prabhu is beyond understanding and imperishable; describing His divine play, the scriptures say “not this, not this,” and Brahma and the Vedas are left unable to reach its end. ॥२॥
