MEANING
मेरे रामलला को सोहिलो सुन नाचो सुर नर नारीहो ॥उमग उमग आनंदमें डोलें तन मन धन सब वारीहो ॥१॥Hear the auspicious birth-song of my Ramlala! Dance, O devas, men, and women! Overflowing with joy, they sway in celebration and offer body, mind, and wealth entirely to Him. ॥१॥गृहगृहतें सब सजि चले अपनें अपने टोलहो ॥देत बधाई रहसि परस्पर गावत मीठे बोलहो ॥२॥From every home they set out beautifully adorned, each in their own group. Joyfully congratulating one another, they sing in sweet voices. ॥२॥मंगल साज सवारकेंहों हाथन कंचनथार ॥मानों कमलन शशि चढ चले राजा दशरथ के दरबार ॥३॥They arrange auspicious offerings and carry golden trays in their hands. It seems as though moons resting upon lotuses are proceeding toward King Dasharath’s court. ॥३॥अवधपुरी अति सोहीयेहो मंगलपुरहि निशान ॥मौतिनचौक पुराय केंहो मंगल विविध विधान ॥४॥Ayodhyapuri looks exceedingly beautiful, filled with signs of auspicious celebration. Pearl chaukas are arranged, and many kinds of auspicious rites are performed. ॥४॥देव पितर गुरु पूजकें हो जातकर्म सबकीने ॥द्विजवर कुल सनमानकें दान बहुत विधदीने ॥५॥The devas, ancestors, and Gurus are worshipped, and all the Jatakarma rites are performed. The foremost Brahmins and respected families are honoured, and many kinds of gifts are given. ॥५॥मागध सूत बिरदावलीहो ॥सूरजवंश वखान ॥याचकजन पूरणकीये सब दानमान परिधान ॥६॥The Magadhas and Sutas recite songs of praise, proclaiming the glory of the Suryavansh. All who come seeking gifts are fully satisfied with charity, honours, and garments. ॥६॥विधि महेश सुर शारदाहो देख सिहात समोद ॥ध्यानधरे नहीं पाईयेंहो सो देखो कौशल्याकी गोद ॥७॥Brahma, Mahesh, the devas, and Sharada behold the sight with joyful wonder. “Look! He whom one cannot attain even through meditation is now resting in Kaushalya’s lap.” ॥७॥विविध कुसुम वरखा भई आनंद प्रेम प्रकाश ॥रामललाके रूपपें जन बलबल गोविंददास ॥८॥A shower of many kinds of flowers falls, while joy and love shine everywhere. Govinddas offers himself again and again to the beautiful form of Ramlala. ॥८॥
