MEANING
नाचत गोविंद संग सखा मिल आवत नंदन आनंद हीये । उडपति निरख नयन छब लाज्यो पाय पयोध स्वरूप किये ॥१॥ Govind comes dancing together with His sakhās, His heart filled with joy. Seeing the beauty of His eyes, the moon is put to shame and hides itself within the clouds. ॥१॥कोउ मृदंग कोउ ताल कोउ जंत्र कोउ रवाव मृदुल गान कीये । तीन ग्राम सुरभदे जनावत नंदकुमार कर वेनु लीये ॥२॥ One plays the mridang, another the cymbals, another an instrument, and another the rabab, making gentle music. Nandakumar, holding the flute in His hand, reveals the distinctions of musical notes through the three grāmas. ॥२॥कमल बरन सिर बन्यो टिपारो काछनी पीत कटि बंदक सीये । मानीक दूती सभरन उपरेना कनक खचित मनि पदिक हीये ॥३॥ A lotus-coloured tiparo adorns His head; a yellow kachhani is fastened at His waist. A ruby-bright upper cloth rests over His ornaments, and upon His chest shines a jeweled pendant set in gold. ॥३॥उरवन मास मधुप झंकारत सुरन देत मधु स्वाद लीये ॥ कृष्णदास लीला लाल गोवर्धनधारी वृजजन पीय रसीये ॥४॥ Upon the vanamala at His chest, bees hum, producing musical notes as they taste its nectar. Krishnadas says: Lila-Lal Govardhandhari is the rasik Beloved of the people of Vraj. ॥४॥
