नागरी नंदलाल संग रंग भरीराजें ॥ स्यामअंस बाहुदिये कुंवरि पुलक पुलकहिये मंदमंद हसन प्रिये कोटिमदन लाजें ॥१॥ The Nagri sits resplendent, filled with loving joy, together with Nandalal. Shyam has placed His arm upon the maiden’s shoulder; her heart thrills again and again with delight, and the Beloved’s gentle smile puts millions of Madanas to shame. ॥१॥तरूतमाल स्यामलाल लपटी अंग अंगवेलि निरख सखी छबि सुकेलि नुपूर कलवाजें ॥ दामोदर हित सुदेश शोभित सुंदर सुवेष नवलकुंज भ्रमरपुंज कोकिलकल गाजे ॥२॥ Dark Shyamlal appears like a tamal tree, with the vine of her limbs twining around every part of Him. Behold, O sakhi, that graceful beauty; the anklets sound sweetly. Damodar says: in that lovely, well-adorned setting, within the fresh bower, clusters of bees hum and the cuckoos sing softly. ॥२॥
