Meaning
सब ग्वाल नाचें गोपी गावै । प्रेम मगन कछु कहत न आवै ॥१॥
All the Gwalas dance and the Gopis sing. They are so absorbed in love that they are unable to say anything. ॥१॥
हमारे राय घर ढोटा जायौ । सुनि सब लोक बधाये आयौ ॥२॥
“A little boy has been born in our Rai’s home!” Hearing the news, everyone comes to offer congratulations. ॥२॥
दूध दही घृत काँवरि ढोरी । तंदुल दूब अलंकृत रोरी ॥३॥
They carry milk, curd, and ghee upon kanvars, along with rice, durva grass, and auspicious roli for the celebration. ॥३॥
हरद दूध दधि छिरकत अंगा । लसत पीतपट बसन सुरंगा ॥४॥
They sprinkle turmeric, milk, and curd upon one another. Their yellow and beautifully coloured garments shine brightly. ॥४॥
ताल पखावज दुंदुभि ढोला। हसत परस्पर करत कलोला ॥५॥
Cymbals, pakhavajs, dundubhis, and dhols resound, while everyone laughs together and joins in the joyful celebration. ॥५॥
अजिर पंक गुलफन चढ़ि आये । रपटत फिरत पग न ठहराये ॥६॥
The courtyard has become muddy up to their ankles; they slip and slide about, unable to keep their feet steady. ॥६॥
वारिवारि पट भूषन दीने । लटकत फिरत महारस भीने ॥७॥
Again and again, garments and ornaments are given as gifts. Wearing them, they move about completely immersed in the great joy of the celebration. ॥७॥
सुधि न परै को काकी नारी । हँसिहँसि देत परस्पर तारी ॥८॥
In their overwhelming joy, no one remains mindful of who belongs to whose household. Laughing together, they clap their hands with one another. ॥८॥
सुर विमान सब कौतिक भूले । मुदित त्रिलोक विमोहत फूले ॥९॥
Even the devas in their celestial vimanas are lost in wonder at this celebration. The three worlds rejoice, enchanted by the sight and overflowing with joy. ॥९॥

ajir pank gulaphan charhi aaye · rapatat phirat pag na thaharaaye ॥6॥

sudhi na parai ko kaakee naaree · hansihansi det paraspar taaree ॥8॥
