MEANING
श्रीरघुनाथ पालने झूले कौसल्या गुण गावे ॥बल अवतार देवमुनि वंदित राजीवलोचन भावे ॥१॥Shri Raghunath swings in the cradle while Kaushalya sings His virtues. The mighty Avatar, worshipped by devas and munis, delights everyone with His lotus-like eyes. ॥१॥राजा दशरथ पलना गढायो नवचंदनको साज ॥हीरा जटित पाटकी डोरी रत्न जराये वाज ॥२॥King Dasharath has had a beautiful cradle made and adorned with fresh sandalwood. Its silken cords are studded with diamonds, and its ornaments are set with precious gems. ॥२॥एते चरणकमल करराते नील जलद तनसोहे ॥मृगमद तिलक अलक घुंघरारी मृदुल हास मनमोहे ॥३॥His lotus feet and little hands are reddish, while His body shines like a dark raincloud. A musk tilak adorns His forehead, curling locks frame His face, and His gentle smile captivates the heart. ॥३॥घर घर उत्सव चारु अयोध्या राघव जन्म निवास ॥गावत सुनत लोक त्रैपावन बल परमानंददास ॥४॥In every home throughout Ayodhya there is a beautiful celebration, for Raghav has been born there. Paramananddas says: singing and hearing of His birth sanctifies all three worlds; I offer myself to Him. ॥४॥
