तूतों ओघड बडो कन्हैया ॥ऐहें काल देखवे तोकों हँसहँस कहत यशोदा मैया ॥“You are such a carefree one, Kanhaiya!” Maiya Yashoda says with a smile, “When the time comes, they will come to see You.”दुलहनि परम सलोंनी सुन्दर बाकी मोकों लगो बलैया ॥मोहन कारो कुंवर हमारो निरख सजन कहा करिहैं बडैया ॥२॥“The bride will be exceedingly charming and beautiful—I would offer myself to her! But our Kunvar Mohan is dark; when her family comes to see Him, what praise will they give Him?” ॥२॥अजहूँ समझ छांडदे चोरी दधि दूध माखनकी भैया ॥बडे गोप घरहोय सगाई सूर धीर धनको अधिकैया ॥३॥“Even now, Bhaiya, be sensible and give up stealing curd, milk, and butter. May Your engagement be arranged in the home of a great Gopa, noble and blessed with abundant wealth.” Surdas says. ॥३॥
