MEANING
दूरि खेलन जिन जाऊ लला मेरे आयो है हाऊ ॥धृ.॥Do not go far away to play, my Lala; the Hāū has come. ॥धृ.॥कुंजन कुंजन गौ चराई निशदिन यमुना जाऊँ । बैठि पाताल कालीनाग नाथ्यौ तहाँ न देखे हाऊ । मैया कैसे है हाऊ ॥१॥I graze the cows from grove to grove, and every day I go to the Yamuna. I went down to the depths and subdued the Kaliya serpent; I did not see the Hāū there. Mother, what is this Hāū like? ॥१॥वामनरूप छल्यौ बलि राजा तीन पेंड वसुधाऊ । बाँधि समुद्र सबै दल लूटे तहाँ न देख्यौ हाऊ ॥२॥In the form of Vamana, I outwitted King Bali and measured the earth in three strides. I bound the ocean and plundered all the armies; there I did not see the Hāū. ॥२॥राम रूप व्है रावण मार्यौ दश मस्तक बीस भुजाऊ । सुवरन लंका विघन करी है तहाँ न देखे हाऊ ॥३॥Taking the form of Rama, I slew Ravana, who had ten heads and twenty arms. I destroyed golden Lanka; there I did not see the Hāū. ॥३॥बालकपन में माटी खाई तीन लोक दिखराई । सूरदास प्रभु अद्भुत लीला मोपै बरनी न जाई ॥४॥In childhood, He ate earth and revealed the three worlds. Surdas says: the Lord’s wondrous lila cannot be described by me. ॥४॥
