MEANING
जागि हो लाल, गुपाल, गिरिवरधरन, सरस ऋतुराज बसंत आयौ ॥Wake up, O Lāl, Gopāl, Girivardharan; the lovely king of seasons, spring, has come.फूले द्रुमवेली, फल, फूल, बौरे, अंब, मधुप, कोकिला कीर सैन लायो ॥१॥The trees and vines are in bloom, bearing fruits and flowers; the mango trees are blossoming, and the bees, cuckoos, and parrots have arrived in groups. ॥१ ॥जावौ खेलन, सबै ग्वाल टेरत द्वार, खाऊ भोजन मधु, घृत, मिलायौ॥Go out to play; all the cowherd boys are calling at the door. Eat your meal, with honey and ghee mixed in.सखी-जूथन लीयैं आई है राधिका मच्यौ गहगडराग रंग छायौ ॥२॥Rādhikā has come with her group of sakhīs; joyful sounds have arisen, and the colors of festivity have spread everywhere. ॥२ ॥सुनति मृदु-बचन, उठे चौक नंदलाल, कर लीयैं पिचकाई सुबल बुलायौ ॥Hearing these gentle words, Nandalāl gets up at once, takes a pichkārī in His hand, and calls Subal.निरखि मुख, हरखि हियैं, वारि तन मन प्रान, सूर येहि मिसहि गिरिधर जगायौ ॥३॥Seeing His face, Sūr rejoices in his heart and offers his body, mind, and life to Him. In this way, Sūr has awakened Giridhar. ॥३ ॥
