पैंजनी पग मनोहर । चलत श्याम बाजत राजत निरखि विनोद मगन मोहे सुर ॥१॥
Beautiful anklets adorn Shyam’s little feet. As He walks, they jingle sweetly and shine. Beholding His delightful childhood play, even the gods are enchanted and filled with joy. ॥१॥
अरु मन मुदित यशोदा जननी पाछें फिरत गहाय अँगुरी कर । मानों धेनु तृणचारि बच्छहित प्रेम पुलकि पय श्रवत पयोधर ॥२॥
Mother Yashoda follows behind Him with a joyful heart, holding His little finger to help Him walk. She is like a cow grazing on grass, whose heart overflows with love for her calf and whose milk flows naturally out of affection. ॥२॥
कुंडल लोल कपोल बिराजत लर लटकन लटुरिया भ्रूपर । सूरदास अवलोकनकौ सुख भलकत बल गोपाल जाके घर ॥३॥
His swinging earrings shine beside His cheeks, while lovely curls of hair fall over His eyebrows. Surdas says, “How fortunate is the household where little Gopal lives, for they enjoy the happiness of beholding His beautiful childhood form!” ॥३॥
