MEANING
पान लै चल्यौ नृप आनंद किनौ ।गयौ शिरनाइकें गर्व बढ़ायकें शकटको रूप धरि असुर लीनौ ॥१॥Taking the betel offering, he departed, and the king rejoiced. Bowing his head, the demon went forth, swelling with pride, and assumed the form of a cart. ॥१॥सुनत घहरानि ब्रजलोग चकूत भये कहा आघात धुनि करत आयौ ।देखि आकास चहुँ पास दसहूँ दिशा डर नरनारी तन सुध भूलायौ ॥२॥Hearing the thunderous rumbling, the people of Vraj were startled: “What is this, coming with such a crashing sound?” Looking all around the sky and in all ten directions, the men and women were so frightened that they lost awareness of themselves. ॥२॥आपु गयौ तहिं जहीं प्रभु रहे पालनें करगही अंगुष्ठ चरन चचोरहीं ।किलकि किलकि हँसत बाल शोभा लसत जानि तिहिं कसत रिपु आयौ भोरहीं ॥३॥He went to the very place where the Lord lay in the cradle, holding His foot in His hand and playing with His big toe. The child laughed and cooed, radiant in His infant beauty, yet knowing that the enemy had come against Him at dawn. ॥३॥नेंक पटक्यौ लात शब्द भयौ आघात गिर्यौ भहरात शकटा संघार्यौ ।सूर प्रभु नंदलाल दनुज मार्यौ ख्याल मेंटि जंजाल ब्रजजन उबार्यौ ॥४॥With the slightest kick of His foot, there came a tremendous crash; the cart fell thundering down, and Shakatasura was destroyed. Sur says: Lord Nandalal slew the demon, removed the affliction, and delivered the people of Vraj from their trouble. ॥४॥
