MEANING
देखि प्रतिबिंब गोपाल खिजावै । लै लडुवा मेलत बाके मुख खेलन संग बुलावै ॥१॥Seeing His reflection, Gopal becomes annoyed. Taking a laddu, He puts it toward the other’s mouth and calls him to come and play with Him. ॥१॥बोलि बोलि उठि चलैरे भैया हट करि करि पकरावै। अपने कंठकौ हार उतारि लै बाके कंठ पहिरावै ॥२॥Calling again and again, “Get up, come along, brother,” He stubbornly tries to catch him. Taking the necklace from His own neck, He puts it around the other’s neck. ॥२॥मधुर बचन कहि हित करि नीके तोतरे बोल सिखावै । आभूषन सब अपने अँगके लै करि बाहि दिखावै ॥३॥Speaking sweetly and affectionately to him, He teaches him His lovely lisping words. Taking all the ornaments from His own limbs, He shows them to him in His hands. ॥३॥अरी भैया हो कहा करूँ यह खेलन संग न आवै । मेरी कही न मानें बातें योंही मोहि बिरावै ॥४॥“O brother, what shall I do? He will not come to play with me. He does not listen to what I say and simply keeps troubling me.” ॥४॥तू करगहि हटकरि किन याकों मेरे संग पठावै । सुतके बचन सुनत नंदरानी आनंद हिये बढ़ावै ॥५॥“Why do you not take hold of him firmly and send him to play with me?” Hearing her son’s words, Nandarani’s joy increases within her heart. ॥५॥बालकेलि रस महा मुग्धके सबहिनके मन भावै । रसिक प्रीतम सुमिरत निशिवासर गावत अति सुख पावै ॥६॥The rasa of the deeply enchanting child-play delights everyone’s heart. Remembering Rasik Pritam day and night, he sings and receives great joy. ॥६॥
