MEANING
खेलत नंद आँगन गोविंद । निरख निरख जसुमति सुख पावत बदन मनोहर चंद ॥१॥Govind plays in Nanda’s courtyard. Gazing again and again, Yashumati finds joy in His charming, moon-like face. ॥१॥कटि किंकिनी चंद्रमनि की आभा मुक्तावलि बनी माल । परम सुदेश कंठ केहरिनख बिच बिच बज्र प्रवाल ॥२॥At His waist are tinkling bells, shining with the radiance of moonstones, and a garland made of pearls. Upon His lovely neck is a lion-claw pendant, with diamonds and coral set between it. ॥२॥कर पहुँची पायन पनसूरा तनु रंजित रज सीत । घुटुरुवन चलत अजर में बिहरत मुख मंडित नवनीत ॥३॥Bracelets adorn His hands and anklets His feet; His body is beautified by the cool dust. Crawling on His knees, He roams about in the courtyard, His face adorned with butter. ॥३॥सूर विचित्र कान्ह की बानिक बानी कहत न आवै । बालदशा अवलोकि सनक मुनि योग बिरति बिसरावै ॥४॥Sur says: the wondrous appearance of Kanh cannot be expressed in words. Beholding His childhood, the sage Sanaka and the other sages forget their yoga and renunciation. ॥४॥
