MEANING
सब सखी कसुंबा छठही मनावो ॥ अपने अपने भवन भवनमें लालही लाल बनावो ॥१॥O sakhis, celebrate Kasumba Chhath together. In each of your homes, adorn Lal entirely in red. ॥१॥विविध सुगंध उबटनों लेके लालन उबट न्हवावो ॥ उपरना लाल कसुंबी कुल्हे आभूषन लाल धरावो ॥२॥Bring various fragrant ubtans and bathe Lal with them. Dress Him in a red upper cloth, a safflower-colored kulah, and red ornaments. ॥२॥यदि छबि निरख निरख व्रज सुन्दरि मन मन मोद बढावे ॥ लाल लकुटी कर मुरली बजावे रसिक सदा गुन गावे ॥३॥Beholding this beauty again and again, the women of Vraj feel ever-growing joy in their hearts. Lal holds His staff in hand and plays the flute, while the rasikas continually sing His virtues. ॥३॥
