सिखवत चलन यशोदा Sikhavat Chalan Yashoda
MEANING
सिखवत चलन यशोदा मैया । अरबराय कर पान गहावत डगमगात धरनी परें पैया ॥१॥Mother Yashoda teaches Him to walk. As He eagerly reaches out and holds her hand, His little feet totter upon the ground. ॥१॥कबहुँक बलिकूँ टेरि बुलावत यह आँगन खेलौ दोऊ भैया । कबहुँक कुलदेवता मनावत चिरजीवौ मेरो कुँवर कन्हैया ॥२॥Sometimes she calls Balaram and says, “You two brothers, play here in the courtyard.” Sometimes she prays to the family deity, “May my young Kanhaiya live long.” ॥२॥कबहुँक ठाड़ी बदन निहारत मनमोहन की लेत बलैया ॥ सूरदास प्रभु सब सुखदाता अति आनंद बिलसत नँदरैया ॥३॥Sometimes she stands gazing at Manmohan’s face and lovingly wards away the evil eye from Him. Surdas says: Prabhu, the giver of every joy, delights Nanda with boundless happiness. ॥३॥
